Hi! It's Jess!
I'm an artist by nature and have always loved creating beautiful things.
Early on in beauty school I fell into a deep love with color. I came in early to color friends, stayed late to foil clients, even played with creative colors on mannequins during my lunch hour. It was no surprise to my educators when I decided to continue my education finishing beauty school by attending Gene Juarez’ Advanced Training Salon to become a color specialist. There I was able to shadow some of the companies best senior artists as well as master my craft.
I was asked to start teaching about 3 years into my career, I remember feeling so honored but also too young and under qualified. Even though I had my doubts, I jumped into teaching and found it to be a perfect fit. I’ve always loved sharing knowledge and finding different ways to help others understand the process of different techniques, so it came second nature to me.
In addition to teaching classes, I’ve also mentored many artists who have gone on to have fabulous careers. It’s so rewarding to me as an artist and mentor to watch another artist gain confidence in their craft. The only thing I love more than seeing my own clients leave happy with their beautiful new color is watching someone who I’ve trained have their clients leave just as elated!
I've now been a colorist for ten years and have been educating for seven! While my own art will always be my number one passion, I've found a close second in teaching. I truly believe every artist deserves, and can have, the career of their dreams!
